“My parents were both camp counselors in Western North Carolina in the 1950s and they brought my brother and I to Pisgah in the 1970s. We’ve been hiking and climbing here ever since. My favorite part of Pisgah is the change of seasons from the winter, when the leaves are down and the views stretch on for miles to the spring when the dogwood, cherry, rhododendron and mountain laurel bloom. When I see the rhododendron bloom, I think ‘Summer’s here.’”
