Annabelle joined TPC in April 2026. She received her B.S. in environmental science with an emphasis on ecology, which started her passion for working in the forest. After graduating from college, she gained experience in various jobs, ranging from managing a farm and building green roofs to working in a seed warehouse and doing floral design. She started her forestry career at EcoForesters in 2023, where she expanded her skillset by learning about non-native invasive plant management, forest stand improvement, and stream restoration. She began volunteering with the local PBA, and found a second job working for The Nature Conservancy in 2024. As a part-time seasonal as-needed burn crew member, she discovered her passion for prescribed burning, witnessing the ecological impact and importance of fire in Western North Carolina. She is a North Carolina native, and in her free time, she enjoys biking, running, swimming in rivers and waterfalls, and gardening.
“My favorite thing about Pisgah is that I am always finding things to be excited about. Whether it is flame azalea season, a hellbender in the river, the biggest silverbell I have seen, or a new swimming hole. Every season brings something new to look forward to in the forest. I look forward to spending more time in Pisgah and seeing more exciting sights.”
