Brendan joined TPC in April 2026. After graduating from Appalachian State University in late 2019, he joined the conservation department of Philmont Scout Ranch for two seasons where he learned about trail and trail feature construction, later instructing groups of scouts and leaders in the fundamentals of these skills. He also learned the basics of chainsaw operation, including bucking and felling. Later, he served for four seasons on Teakean Handcrew, a Type 2 Initial Attack Wildland Fire Handcrew in the Panhandle of Idaho. This opportunity allowed him to explore much of the west, advance his saw skills, and become versed in incident response. He also served as a crew lead on a prescribed burn crew for Conservation Corps North Carolina, leading several burns throughout the state’s Sandhills region. He enjoys photography, focusing on Macro insects, fly fishing, hiking, and exploring the biodiversity of whatever area he’s in.

The pristine waters and preserved ecosystems provide sanctuary for unique fauna, while the trail systems and infrastructure provide easy access and low-impact engagement to experience all of the wonders that Pisgah provides. It is a great showcase of the southern Appalachian Mountains.”
