Jenah joined TPC in April 2026. She grew up in Rosman, NC, then studied American History at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she first felt inspired to pursue a career in outdoor education. After graduation, Jenah spent six summer seasons working in Yellowstone National Park with the Youth Conservation Corps program, leading high schoolers on work projects and recreational trips. Working in Yellowstone introduced her to a wider range of conservation careers. She’s mostly spent her winter seasons pursuing different vegetation management work: a chainsaw crew removing invasive plants in the Southwest throughout AZ, UT, and CA; the NPS Invasive Plant Management Team based out of Asheville, NC, which helped restore her love of the Southeast; and most recently in Gatlinburg, TN, removing invasive plants and treating native Eastern Hemlocks in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Jenah’s very excited to be continuing her career back home in Transylvania County.
“My favorite thing about Pisgah is how it always welcomes me home. I have so many childhood memories of picnics at the fish hatchery and hiking to Looking Glass Rock and John Rock when I was home on breaks from college. Now I love seeing the trillium and mountain laurel bloom, looking for salamanders, and swimming in the river with my dog. There’s something here for everyone, whether you want to hike, bike, fish, hunt, or chase waterfalls. This place is truly special, and I’m thankful I get to help take care of it.”
