Kyle joined TPC in April 2026. He has a bachelor’s degree in conservation biology and ecology from Arizona State University and began his passion for conservation in the piedmont of North Carolina, working on a local nature preserve. Before that, he lived in the high country of Watauga County and has always felt at home in the southern Appalachians. For the past seven years, he has delved into the worlds of ecological restoration, botany, and mycology, and he hopes to expand his knowledge while working with The Pisgah Conservancy. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, botanizing, playing disc golf, listening to/playing music, and spending time with his dog, June.
“Its abundant diversity of species and ecosystems, the smell of a rich cove forest mixed with petrichor, light shining through the morning fog refracting through hemlock and spruce, creating a dark green mossy scene. Seeing how each minuscule piece plays its part in a functioning whole. I look forward to gaining more favorites along my journey here in Pisgah.”
