Scott retired as president and owner of CritiCore Inc. in December or 2024, following the sale of the company. CritiCore is one of the premier suppliers of protective apparel used in pharmaceutical and semiconductor manufacturing. Scott grew up in North Carolina and spent most of his career living in the Charlotte area. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Virginia Tech and his MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He and his wife, Missy, split their time between Charlotte and Brevard. Their love of hiking, being outdoors, and the community brought them to Brevard. They have two daughters, one living in Charlotte and the other in Boone.
“I grew up hiking the Art Loeb trail as a boy scout, and one of the first camping trips with my daughter was to Sliding Rock. It’s great that today when my wife and I now spend time on the trails, it reminds me of both points in my life. Pisgah is a gift to everyone and the opportunity to spend time outdoors and in such a beautiful environment needs to be maintained for future generations. I consider the opportunity to help make this happen both an honor and a privilege.”
