Our Trail Crew is rerouting a 600-foot section of trail that is very prone to flooding. This section of trail sits low enough that in moderate to high rain events, the river jumps and flows down the trail, making this partial trail reroute necessary.
Our Trail Crew is moving this section of trail higher up the slope and out of the flood plain to ensure long-term resiliency. The crew is making other improvements along the trail, including:
- Brushing out the corridor
- Improving drainage
- Hardening and regrading water-logged areas
- Improving ford entrances and exits
Our crew’s work on this heavily used trail will improve access, user experience, and sustainability.
For now, the original path remains open while the new path weathers in.
