Be a part of the next Pisgah Conservancy success story:

Sycamore Cove trail is a popular front country trail for mountain bikers, trail runners, and hikers alike. The final stretch of what is called “Lower Sycamore” follows and crosses a gentle, bubbling stream – no more than a few inches deep.

Hurricane Helene’s deluge changed that, and pushed an entire 80-foot boardwalk more than twelve feet.

Our Trails & Recreation Technician coordinated with the trail adopters, known as the Pisgah Cowboys, to repair the damage. Together, we disconnected the structure into 16-foot segments and used a grip hoist to pull each segment back into place.

In the hopes of preventing future damage, three-foot lengths of rebar were used to secure the structure more permanently into the ground.
