From the Whitmires

For over 30 years as an outfitter guide with Headwaters Outfitters, we have been inspired by the breathtaking beauty of Pisgah, home to the French Broad and Davidson Rivers. This extraordinary forest, with its diverse wildlife, plants, and recreational opportunities, is a true haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Our passion for Pisgah drives us to share its wonders, cultivating a deep appreciation for nature and encouraging stewardship among others.

The Pisgah Ranger District is more than our workplace; it’s our home, with family roots here dating back to the early 1800s. Over the years, we’ve witnessed challenges in managing this forest, especially in areas like wildlife habitat conservation and combating illegal dumping, due to limited budgets and resources. TPC has been a vital partner in addressing these issues, and we’re proud to be founding and ongoing supporters of their impactful work, ensuring a healthier, more resilient forest for generations to come.
