Congratulations to Leslie Restivo, whose photograph portraying People in Pisgah won grand prize in our Peering into Pisgah photo contest!

An anonymous donor gifted TPC $1,250.00 to use as prizes for photos across four categories: Pisgah Vistas; Pisgah Waterfalls, Streams and Rivers; Wildlife in Pisgah; and People in Pisgah. Beginning April 15, we began accepting admissions on our Facebook page, and the response was incredible! We received many beautiful images of your experiences in Pisgah Forest.

The four category winners were chosen in mid-April; Susan Stamey won for both Wildlife and for Vistas, Matthew Padgett won for Waterfalls, Rivers, and Streams, and Leslie won for People. The winners received $250 for the each of the categories.

Then YOU voted on Facebook to select the grand prize winner from the four category winners, and Leslie’s photo was chosen! She’ll receive an additional $250 for her photo. Leslie tells us she’s an avid photographer and belongs a photography group made up of people from across NC. She had a lot of support from that group throughout the contest. “It means so much to me to win the grand prize,” says Leslie. “The support from my friends in my photography group has been amazing. They’ve become like family to me.”

A big thanks to everyone who entered the contest, and especially to Matthew, Susan, and Leslie! We were thrilled to receive your amazing photos, and are honored that you shared your images of our beloved Pisgah!
