Be a part of the next Pisgah Conservancy success story:

Pilot Cove Loop trail consists of two parts, a ridge-top journey to Slate Rock, and then a low-lying path among young trees and several streams.

The largest stream comes by the trail as the two paths diverge, crossed by an unassuming bridge before the high waters of Helene caused it to collapse.

For this particular bridge replacement project, our crew hauled in materials and constructed a new 24-foot bridge over the first stream crossing.

Our crew also constructed new bridge approach ramps through a beautiful tunnel of rhododendron and mountain laurel. These new bridge approach ramps are more bicycle-friendly approaches, which improves access for all users.

In addition to constructing the new bridge, our crew also improved and hardened three drains on the trail and regraded a large mudhole near the start of the trail.
