Rachel has accepted a new position as the Visitor Center Manager for the U.S. Forest Service - Pisgah Ranger District. In this role she’ll continue supporting recreational opportunities and conservation education for visitors with plans to expand programming and enhance collaboration in multi-organizational partnerships.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as the Lead River Ranger and am fortunate to have this permanent opportunity to join the federal workforce and continue serving our community. It has been so rewarding to guide young professionals towards careers in environmental education & wildlife conservation. I could not have achieved this without the amazing support of TPC and The Pisgah Chapter of Trout Unlimited, Pisgah Ranger District staff, and our partners!”

Rachel will continue assisting the Pisgah River Rangers program and looks forward to building a new team consisting of one lead educator and 3 interns next summer. It is an excellent path to pursuing a career in the Federal Service, and we are always looking for folks who are stoked about natural resources and willing to share that passion!
